Paul and the Underground Church
by Angela Sangalang

The Kingdom Kids Vacation Bible School was held last July 12 to 24, 2009. The life of Paul was taught who also told about God’s love and its importance. They learned that God’s love is a free gift, life changing, always with us, saves us, and is worth sharing.

The children experienced a visit of the underground church where they stayed to pray until the Roman soldiers found and drove them away. They experienced what it’s like to be placed in multi-generational families, where we they learned to help and take care of each other. Everyday,  children learned something new about God’s love and made new friends.

On the very last day, the childrens and teachers had a fun water balloon fight to cool off from the summer sun. The “All About VBS” posters were filled up

The VBS was culminated during after the Sunday service with a special song number from the Kidz where they sang “Hello,” “God’s Love Is Always There,” and the rap song “To God Be The Glory.”

A special treat entitled was also prepared by the teachers, childrens and some volunteers. It was held at the lower level of the church. The children’s parents and friends had the chance to visit the Roman Market and experience life in Rome and what it was like for Christians living in the time of Paul.

The volunteers wore clothes that Romans would wear and everyone tasted Roman food. Roman crafts and Roman games were played using a Denarii, the Roman money at the time.
